Dr. Md Nuruzzaman Khan is an accomplished biostatistician and public health expert with extensive experience in epidemiology and the statistical analysis of large-scale datasets. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2012 (finalized in 2015) and his postgraduate studies in 2013 (completed in 2016) at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Subsequently, he pursued a PhD at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and successfully obtained his doctorate in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics in 2021. Dr. Khan is a fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, Australian Academy of Science, the Japan Epidemiological Association, and the Asian Population Association.

Dr. Khan possesses a remarkable track record in both work and research. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Population Science at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. Additionally, he holds an honorary Senior Lecturer position at the School of Medicine and Public Health, College of Health, Medicine, and Well-being, University of Newcastle, Australia. He also regularly delivers invited lectures on research methodology and public health research at several esteemed universities. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Khan has held academic positions at renowned institutions such as the University of Newcastle, the University of Sydney, and La Trobe University in Australia.

Dr. Khan is a mixed-methods researcher, and his research concentrates on enhancing maternal and child health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries, with a particular emphasis on mitigating maternal and under-five child morbidity and mortality. He is also involved in research related to the health of forcibly displaced populations and refugees. Dr. Khan has authored over 150 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, many of which are highly cited and globally recognized, including publications in The Lancet, Nature, BMJ, and the Bulletin of the World Health Organization. The impact of his research and publications is evident through international research impact measurement platforms. Dr. Khan has received over 15,000 citations on Google Scholar and over 10,000 citations in Scopus, placing him among the top ten Bangladeshi-affiliated researchers with the highest number of citations. Moreover, Dr. Khan has been listed among the world's top 2% scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA for the years 2022 and 2023. He has also secured research grants from esteemed organizations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Swedish government, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), La Trobe University, and the Climate Change and Health Promotion Unit of the Government of Bangladesh.

Dr. Khan is currently supervising a cohort of PhD students, with three of his students having already obtained their PhDs. Additionally, he holds the positions of Associate Editor or Academic Editor for three prestigious international journals: BMC Public Health, PLoS ONE, and PLoS Global Public Health. He also serves as a guest editor for Frontiers in Public Health.
